- The unveiling and successful demo of the first Canadian dipper design in over 50 years at Suncor Energy in Fort McMurray to over 50 mining industry leaders from Canada and USA.

- 1st edition shovel performance software trial version released at CIM conference in Toronto. The prototype dipper is displayed at the CIM Conference & Exhibition in Toronto.

- Golosky Group agrees to fabricate scale prototype dipper to JPi design through its Brospec Inc. facilities in Quebec.

- JPi shows the prototype design concept for the 1st Canadian dipper in over 50 years at the Edmonton CIM Conference and Exhibition.
January 2004
- JPi supports tire-rim and suspension performance research via AEGIS (Alberta Equipment-Ground Interactions Syndicate) at the University of Alberta.
- JPi agrees to support and provide shovel dipper development data to AEGIS research group as a Ph.D. project
- JPi commits to support truck rim performance research at AEGIS. Syncrude Canada Ltd. endorse the project.
